COVID-19 Update | November 24, 2020

Yesterday, Edgewood Summit identified two additional positive cases of COVID-19 among Team Members as a result of our twice weekly mandated antigen testing of all Staff.  The newly impacted individuals are dining Employees. Both are asymptomatic and are self-isolating at home. We wish them a full recovery and have provided them with information on recommended quarantine precautions.

This brings the total number of positive cases recently identified at our community to nine – seven Employees, one visitor and one private caregiver.

As a result of these recent cases and our contact tracing efforts, we are testing all residents at The Hodges Center and The Ridgemont every week. All Staff are being tested twice per week. Our next round of testing is scheduled for Wednesday, November 25.

Furthermore, The Hodges Center and The Ridgemont continue to implement strict outbreak protocols out of an abundance of caution.  These include:

  • No entry, exit or cross movement of foot traffic through the buildings.
  • Only direct care Staff are permitted into the buildings.
  • Guests are limited to direct care, end of life and compassionate care visits.
  • No group dining.
  • No group activities.
  • Housekeeping and maintenance are only provided on an as needed basis
  • Entry screening is only conducted at The Hodges Center lobby and at the main independent living entrance for the main building.

As usual, we will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.

We greatly appreciate your continued support during this unprecedented period.

Thank you,

Diane Gouhin

Executive Director
