COVID-19 Update | October 12, 2020

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news that one of our residents recently passed away following a positive COVID-19 test result. All deaths are difficult to absorb and this one is no different. We are deeply saddened, and our condolences and prayers go out to this person’s family and loved ones. We ask that you also take a moment, amidst our collective grief, to celebrate a life well lived.

Last Thursday’s results of the COVID-19 testing at the Arthur B. Hodges Center revealed no additional positive cases. We will continue to test twice each week until no further positive cases have been identified for a period of 14 days. This week’s testing is scheduled for today and Thursday.

Though we pause to mourn our loss, we remain steadfastly focused on our goal of protecting the health and safety of our residents and team members. We have confidence in our mitigation efforts, including the expanded testing, which is geared toward promptly finding all positive cases and limiting exposure within the Edgewood Summit family.

We remain committed to transparency about our actions and the challenges this worldwide pandemic presents to us. We thank you for your kind words, support and prayers during this unprecedented period.

Please remain vigilant and continue to take all necessary precautions. I have no doubt we will get through this – together.
