COVID-19 Update | October 19, 2020

Edgewood Summit had begun testing all Residents and Employees at the Arthur B. Hodges Center (Hodges Center) twice per week as part of the outbreak protocol following one Employee in the Memory Support Unit who tested positive.  The results of the COVID testing on Thursday, October 15, 2020 have reported No new positive cases!  We are pleased with this report and can see the favorable results of our mitigation efforts taking place to prevent further spread of the virus.

The Residents who had previously tested positive for COVID-19 are resting comfortably and are experiencing mild or no symptoms at this time.  COVID positive Residents remain isolated from others and have a dedicated team who provide care only for them and they remain separate from other Residents and Employees.

The Residents who have now tested positive for COVID-19 total 5 at the Hodges Center with 2 positive Employees who are self-isolating at their homes.  Testing will continue twice each week with the next scheduled test date after today, is Thursday, October 22nd.  The frequency of testing is used to determine all positive cases as promptly as possible while mitigation efforts continue.

Updates will continue to be provided as more information becomes available.  Support and prayers are welcome.
