COVID-19 Update November 19

Earlier today, Edgewood Summit identified two new positive cases of COVID-19 among Team Members at  Edgewood Summit as a result of our twice weekly mandated antigen testing of all Staff.  The cases include a culinary Team Member and a privately employed caregiver.

This brings the total number of positive Team Member cases communitywide to six.  All affected individuals are safely recovering at home and we extend our well wishes to them and their loved ones.

One previously reported case had mistakenly been identified as being from the Hodges Center, but was actually from The Ridgemont.  The inaccurately identified Employee has not worked within the building in last 14 days, which is the period of exposure.

However, given the newly identified positive cases and our ongoing contact tracing efforts, we have deemed it necessary to test all Ridgemont Residents today.  Outbreak protocols have been initiated in The Ridgemont out of an abundance of caution as we await results. These include:

  • No entry, exit or cross movement of foot traffic through the building.
  • Only direct care Staff are permitted into the building.
  • No group dining.
  • No group activities.
  • Housekeeping and maintenance are only provided on an as needed basis.
  • Entry screening is only conducted at the main independent living entrance.

More updates will be provided as additional information becomes available. Your continued patience, understanding and support during this challenging period is very much appreciated.
