With cases on the rise at Edgewood Summit and within Kanawha County, we began to implement increased protocols for Independent Living on Tuesday, May 31, 2022 due to positive cases. We apologize for any mixed information you may have received yesterday as the events were still unfolding and changes were occurring quickly. The Ridgemont and the Hodges Center are not affected at this time. The protocols now include:
- Testing for Independent Living Residents and Employees is required weekly beginning Thursday, June 2nd and continuing for at least 2 weeks or until there are no new positive cases. The scheduled testing begins at 1:00 p.m. for Residents and is scheduled by floor and by wing. Independent Living Employees and Ridgemont Nursing will test on Thursday during 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room.
- Masks are mandatory in all public areas of the Community for everyone regardless of vaccination status.
- Visitation remains unchanged.
- Screening upon entry to the building remains unchanged.
- Activities – no group activities for at least the next 2 weeks. Activities will be provided remotely.
- Housekeeping – weekly service appointments remain unchanged.
- Transportation – all services remain unchanged.
- Dining Services – Meal Delivery service only with no fee for delivery in independent living. No dining in the Independent Living dining room for at least 2 weeks. The Café will provide take-out services only.
- The Hair Salon is closed for at least the next 2 weeks
